This bride relocated her wedding from Thailand to Delhi amidst Coronavirus Outbreak

Spending countless hours selecting scenic venues, shortlisting vendors, photographers and outfits, distributing invitations, and planning the themes and decor at a destination wedding – the effort and time that couples invest in planning their big day is unimaginable. With many of them cancelling their weddings at the last minute or cautiously moving the dates ahead due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, one pragmatic bride relocated her wedding destination from Thailand to New Delhi within 10 days in order to wed on the same date as was fixed earlier. Read on to see how bride and her fiance Nikhil Tandon pulled off their dream wedding at a venue thousands of miles away from their original choice.

Tarini shares, “Nikhil and I initially planned a destination wedding in Rayong, Thailand, and over the course of last year, we made multiple trips to the property, met with our planners and decorators based in Thailand, went for food and cocktail tastings to finalize the menu, until we finally had a vision of our perfect beach wedding. However, the world had a different plan for not just us, but everyone, as the coronavirus started spreading rapidly in China and then in so many other countries. All our guests had confirmed tickets, but many felt apprehensive about flying, and rightly so, as the situation was so unprecedented.”

The optimistic bride saw Plan A collapse in front of her eyes when travel restrictions were imposed. She and fiance Nikhil Tandon saw the silver lining and quickly moved to Plan B. Swallowing their disappointment and stress, the duo quickly accepted that the coronavirus situation was out of their control and moved to organizing their wedding in New Delhi. They immediately booked MorBagh Farms in Chattarpur for their wedding and contacted vendors for decor and related services.

Tarini recalls, “Miraculously, and with a lot of help and support from our families, we pulled off a wedding on the same date, in the same manner, that far exceeded our expectations of the best wedding we thought we’d host in Thailand. I cannot begin to explain how elated we were to pull something so grand at the last minute! We also decided to give our wedding a new hashtag – #6dinshaadiin. It was all possible because we were surrounded by the warmth and love of our friends and family who made the celebrations even better.”
