Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates beautiful people in love as they start their lives together: because real love can only begin, never end. Over a photo shoot, we get to-be-weds to tell us how they met, show us their platinum love bands and talk about their day of love.
Mickhaila and Sheldon’s story began when they were introduced to each other at work in Mumbai in 2009. They got along instantly and often met at lunch. A couple of years passed without incident and Sheldon secured a job at another organization. The saying, “Out of sight is out of mind” proved true in their case. Their conversations were limited to a few texts or forward messages on festive occasions.
And then one day, Sheldon realized that he was a colleague to one of Mickhaila’s friends. They got in touch and decided to catch up. That meeting crossed time and boundaries, moving from coffee shops to drinks, dinners, drives, movies, there was no looking back! They soon realized that it wasn’t just fondness for each other that drew them immensely close, but definitely something much deeper.
After a party in October 2012, Sheldon proposed. Mickhaila said yes. “It was the greatest moment of my life. I had never imagined I’d ever have a chance with her”, says Sheldon. “Through thick and thin, we have become best friends and selfless lovers. Though it hasn’t been an easy ride, we know that it has been worth every bit.”
“We plan on getting hitched on the 9th of January 2016 which is also Sheldon’s birthday so that he doesn’t forget our wedding anniversary!” says Mickhaila with a naughty smile.
Their venue, a green, luscious lawn is everything the bride-to-be always dreamt of. “Every bit of the wedding planning has been delightful. We’ve taken our time choosing the best vendors with the skill and ability to customize according to our tastes. The beginning of 2016 will rain down celebrations as we eagerly wait to spend the rest of our lives together”, they excitedly say.
