Love Actually- Srimoyee and Veejaye’s Platinum Day of Love

Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates beautiful people in love as they start their lives together: because real love can only begin, never end. Featured here are engaged couple Veejaye and Srimoyee and their shoot by well-known wedding photographer Samik ‘Jonak’ Ghosh of Jonak PhotoGraphy.
Veejaye and Srimoyee met at Northeastern University in Boston, MA where they both graduated with their Doctorates in Pharmacy Studies. Sri explains, “When we think back to how we met and all our years together, we are still in disbelief we were lucky enough to find each other! We met during the first week of school after chatting on Facebook over the summer. We had a lot in common and started spending more and more time together. Eventually we became best friends – totally inseparable! I always thought Veejaye was too cool for me and didn’t think we would be more than friends. But, I couldn’t help falling for him! He was sweet, always walking me to class, waiting to have dinner with me and my girlfriends, even putting himself out there and dancing on stage with me for our culture shows at college! Little did I know, Veejaye was falling for me too.”
Veejaye certainly was falling for Srimoyee, “Sri is by far the most personable individual I know. She has a wonderful love for friends, family, and every living cat on the planet. We had no real intention of falling for one another, but it happened and that’s what makes us so compatible. We are best friends, and that’s why we can be so confident in our ‘forever journey’.”
Fast-forward eight years, Srimoyee and Veejaye graduated and moved away from Boston. “It was such an exciting time for us; new jobs, new states and we could finally enjoy one another’s free time after spending 6 years studying across the table from one another. Amidst all the changes, I could tell Sri was ready for a lifetime commitment, so on the 27th of March 2014, I mustered up the courage to propose. It was one of the most nerve-wracking moments of my life but being in Boston, where the “SriJaye” story began and with the approval of our parents, I got on one knee at the Boston Harbor (our favourite spot) and she said yes!”
Both Bengali, Sri and Veejaye love visiting family in Kolkata and have decided to tie the knot on the 29th of January 2016 in South Kolkata. They look forward to all the excitement, festivities, and memories to be made.
