A Pre-wedding Shoot in the Coastal Paradise of Kerala

The serenity and charm of Kerala attracted Anupriya and Devashish who headed there for their surreal, stunning pre-wedding photoshoot. Set in the breathtaking beauty of the secluded town of Bekal, the couple’s love was immortalized against the backdrop of Taj Bekal Resort & Spa.
WeddingSutra Favorite – Naman Verma focused his expertise and lenses on Anupriya and Devashish’s dream of experiencing that perfect photo shoot – and the beautiful pictures are a testament to their wonderful collaboration.
How We Met
“While Devashish and I were introduced to each other in an arranged setup, it feels funny to call ours an arranged marriage because it doesn’t feel like one. To us, it does feel like we’ve known each other all our lives! The fact, however, remains that our parents along with some mutual acquaintances played Cupid, and after a month of talking and meeting we both decided to take the plunge.”
Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot
“Devashish and I spent a lot of time brainstorming and putting thought into the kind of aesthetic we wanted for the shoot, and the natural beauty and coastal charm of Kerala, God’s own country, just called out to us. We finalized the beguiling Taj Bekal Resort & Spa as the location of our shoot. Taj is known to have properties that are breathtaking, but this one was truly a paradise in itself. The property spans over 26 acres and offers a confluence of beach and backwaters. Since we both love being close to the sea, this feature was a plus.”
“Our pictures were clicked by Naman Verma, and we were so pleased to be working with him and his crew. If I were to comment on the photographs, I would say that they turned out to look just surreal and that’s because he was on the same page as us. We had a similar sense of what we wanted our pictures to look like and worked in tandem to achieve the desired results.”
“For the shoot, there was no particular theme that we followed. However, we ensured that the overall look and feel of the pictures was very breezy and uncomplicated, and resonated with the tranquility of Kerala. We wanted them to arouse a sense of ease, and the quiet beauty of Bekal lent itself very well to such a vibe while complementing our personalities.”
“The overall experience was enthralling. I wouldn’t say that everything worked out just the way we had imagined because it all turned out far better than our expectations! The entire process right from waking up at 5 am, picking out our clothes, attempting to ensure that they balanced the other’s outfits, getting that cup of coffee in the morning and powering through the day was an experience in itself. It was all very power-packed, but at the end of the day, we could head back to our luxurious villas which were not just the most stunning locations to shoot at but also an absolute treat to live in!”
