From cozy cafes to a busy airport, Malaysia offered unique backdrops for this pre-wedding photoshoot

Singapore-based Sayantan and Sanchita’s first date was a casual brunch that turned into a six-hour-long marathon of getting to know each other. They bonded over their common love for indie folk music, coffee, spicy Asian food, desi comedy, politics, and so on. After a three-year relationship and a surprise proposal atop Mount Fuji, Japan, the couple posed for their stunning pre-wedding photoshoot in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur and the Cameron Highlands. WeddingSutra Favourite – Plush Affairs captured all the nuances of their love in beautiful frames.

Sharing why they picked Malaysia for their pre-wedding photoshoot, Sanchita said,” As beautiful as Singapore is, we wanted a place with better weather and more scenic landscapes. Cameron Highlands was a natural choice because of its beautiful weather, incredible landscapes and accessibility from Singapore. Also, Sayantan has a deep (almost bizarre) fascination for airplanes. To bring that unique aspect of his personality into it we incorporated the Kuala Lumpur International Airport into the shoot as well.”

Sayantan’s quirky sense of humour, positivity and caring nature won Sanchita over; while in Sanchita, Sayantan found his love, friend and confidante. They wanted their shoot to reflect their dynamic as a couple and who they were as individuals – fun-loving, casual people who enjoy each other’s company and love to have a good laugh together. The photoshoot was a leisurely exploration of the most picturesque spots at Cameron Highlands over two days. They covered six locations with Sibin, their photographer, went cafe hopping and posed for photos at opportune moments.

“For outfits, we wanted to keep it simple and fun, the way we would have been on any other trip, and Plush Affairs gave us great advice from their experience on what colors and patterns we should wear and avoid, which was super helpful. We decided on four to five outfits, keeping it a mix between casual and semi-formal. As suggested by Plush Affairs, we wore bright monochromatic colors which turned out very well in the end result.” shares Sanchita.”

The couple shares, “The pre-wedding shoot experience with Plush Affairs was very memorable. Both Apoorv and Sanyogita were very involved in the planning process, researching locations, and suggesting outfits and themes. We are grateful to our photographer Sibin who went to great lengths to find the best frames and backdrops for us. He was incredibly patient with us, sometimes taking the same shot multiple times till he got the perfect picture. After the shoot, Apoorv and Sanyogita were prompt in delivering the photos. Our friends and family can’t stop gushing over the pictures which we love too.”

The couple is due to wed in December in New Delhi, where Sanchita’s parents stay, while Sayantan’s baraat is going to be travelling all the way from Kolkata for their traditional Hindu wedding celebrating their Bengali and Bihari cultures. “Our families have come beautifully together, and are taking over majority of the workload of the wedding planning. They have been our strongest support systems, excitedly helping us with designing wedding invitations, shopping for outfits and preparing for sangeet performances. We are blessed to have so much support and love in our lives, and can’t wait to be hitched for the rest of our lives.”
