A magical ‘Mirage in Muscat’ themed pre-wedding shoot

For Varis, who is a pilot, love gave him wings when he met Shruti. En route to their wedding, they decided to capture their love in a pre-wedding shoot in Muscat, Oman. The couple were enthralled with the endless breathtaking backdrops that elevated their photos.

Varis shares with us their story and their experience in this stunning country.

How We Met
“Shruti and I were introduced to each other by a common friend. We first started hanging out with friends and eventually began going out with each other. Soon enough we both started falling for each other and five years later here we are, ready to tie the knot.”

Pre-Wedding Shoot
“I can barely face the camera, unlike Shruti who is so confident in front of the lens it’s like she was born with the skills to model. Needless to say, the pre-wedding shoot was Shruti’s dream and idea. However, since she wanted it, I had to do it for her.

Our initial plan was to shoot in Leh. Then the plan was changed to the Rann of Kutch. We even considered Pondicherry before finally locking down on Muscat, Oman. Shruti’s uncle lives there and that was key in understanding the locales, figuring out permissions for a drone shoot, etc. Muscat really ticked all the boxes and Shruti masterminded the entire thing.

The shoot was themed around the idea of a mirage. Omega Productions, our photographers, conceptualized and executed this perfectly and the backdrops fit right in. The mirage in question was Shruti and the pictures tell the story of me seeing her everywhere and not being able to find her as I went closer.

What I absolutely loved about the shoot was being able to discover how wonderful the city of Muscat really is. I am yet to visit another place as splendid as this one. If you ask me, just about every spot here makes for the most breathtaking backdrop!

We did face a few challenges. We had to be driven everywhere by Shruti’s uncle and aunt and they lovingly agreed for it but as they transported us and sat through long shoot hours for four days straight we did feel a bit bothered. The heat also cannot be underestimated. Shooting in the middle of the desert at noon is quite daunting.

However, our photographers really managed everything very well. During the shoot there were moments when even I fell prey to some agitation and asked them to wrap it all up but they were persistent and patient and that has ensured we have the most stunning photographs!

I also must mention that this team is thoroughly professional when they have their cameras in their hands but they are the most fun people to be around! They know how to have a gala time and make for great company when you want to let loose!”
