A magical pre-wedding shoot in Mauritius captured against the glow of the setting sun

Maysie and Farhaan chose the beautiful island of Mauritius, also Farhaan’s birthplace, to commemorate the start of a new chapter in their lives. The couple are both avid travellers, who travelled the world before finding solid ground in each other’s arms.
Introduced by friends, their relationship blossomed on opposite ends of the earth for two whole years before they zeroed in on London as the place they wanted to begin their married life together. After this decision, the couple immersed themselves in planning their wedding, choosing a beach ceremony in Mauritius as this was something Farhaan had always wanted.
Maysie says, “In the initial stages of our wedding planning, we were still living in different countries and had to travel to Mauritius a couple of times to finalize the details. We thought that doing a pre-wedding shoot was a good way to have a trial run with our wedding photographer, the incredible Claudia Ramen of Little Miss Clo Photography. When we saw the stunning pictures, we knew that we picked the right person. We shot at sunset at the Sugar Beach Resort on the west coast of Mauritius”.
The couple wanted the photos to capture the essence of their love in its most natural form. They followed no theme and instead just walked along the length of the gorgeous beach, enjoying themselves and striking a few poses for the camera. “I decided to wear the dress I had on when I got engaged, which brought up the emotions I had felt on that special day. Farhaan, however, had to be dragged out of his swim trunks!,” she laughs, adding, “The entire shoot would have been in our swimwear if he had had his way. He finally compromised by settling for a casual t-shirt and chinos”.
Recalling favorite moments from the shoot, Maysie says, “The most memorable moment had to be when Claudia walked away and told us to then run towards her. The moment had a very filmy vibe as Farhaan broke out into a song from Hum Aapke Hain Koun! I just burst out laughing and it was perfectly captured in the pictures. Other shots we love are those of us dancing and one where Farhaan is giving me a piggyback ride. What makes the photos so special is that you can see the happiness we feel through the smiles on our faces.”
Talking about the shoot experience, Maysie says, “Claudia is a pleasure to work with. She works alongside her husband, Jean-Francois, and they both made us feel completely at ease and very comfortable.”
The couple tied the knot in Bel Ombre, Mauritius, in October 2019.
