Surrounded by the bounties of nature, this pre-wedding photoshoot in California exuded earthy and romantic vibes

Gagan and Jasdeep first met in college, and as time flew by, their friendship evolved into love. After a memorable proposal orchestrated by Jasdeep in Orange County, California, the duo entered a new chapter in their lives. The couple hosted a stunning boho-themed engagement ceremony at Gagan’s abode, and their pre-wedding photoshoot was a carefully co-ordinated affair handled by a photography expert they sussed out on Instagram.
Giving us a brief glimpse of their love story, Gagan shares, “Jasdeep and I first met in college and soon became best friends who fell in love over time. When it came to popping the question, Jasdeep left me completely surprised by his proposal. We were visiting Orange County in California and, just as the sun was setting, he led me towards a flower-adorned gazebo where each basket contained a note reminiscing about a special ‘first’ in our lives.”
Attended by close family only, their close-knit Roka (engagement ritual in Punjabi culture) ceremony was a feast for the eyes with its artful, boho themed decor. And to capture these precious moments before they tied the knot, Gagan roped in Amanda Pope from Amanda Photo Co. who gave it her all to ensure that the duo received a treasure trove of long-lasting, tangible memories.
Gagan shares, “Our Roka ceremony was a small one wherein only close family members were in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, I had my mindset on a photoshoot with Jasdeep after the ceremony. Soon, I found Amanda on Instagram, and after connecting with her, the search for the perfect location commenced. Knowing that Jasdeep is an outdoorsy person, Amanda started scouting parks that were close to my residence, and after visiting a couple of spots, both of us zeroed in on the perfect one! We both kept the color of my outfit in mind while choosing the location since I was really keen on making the olive and pink hues pop in the photographs.”
Lounging in the lap of nature and surrounded by varying hues of green, their pictures celebrated Gagan and Jasdeep’s love as well as the beauty of the Californian sunshine-bathed landscape which lit up each picture.
Rambling on the vast plains of wild grass, the duo unleashed their playful and stylish sides while flaunting their best profiles. Describing her favorite moments from the photoshoot, Gagan says, “One cannot be stylish without being comfortable. Jasdeep and I slipped on our comfy shoes to navigate through the rough terrain, and once the camera started clicking we switched to our fancy footwear. I think for me, the best shot is the monochrome picture in which Jasdeep is running behind me. The aesthetics of that picture really stands out as my gharara and cape flow behind me giving it a fairytale-like aura. Working with Amanda was a fun-filled experience where we collaborated effortlessly to make our vision come true.”
