A gorgeous backdrop, a dreamy couple and love in the air – these are the ingredients that are essential to craft that perfect engagement ceremony which is exactly what Fidan and Bilal did at the luxurious Jumeirah Al Qasr hotel in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. Here, Fidan shares their journey of love and highlights of their engagement.
The Love Story
“Bilal and I met in New York five years ago over dinner with mutual friends in a nice Italian restaurant. Our first date was at Central Park, and we have been happily together ever since. We both moved to the UAE shortly after that. Bilal is a banker, and I work at a university in Abu Dhabi. Bilal initially spoke to my father about his intent to propose and to get his blessing. He popped the question on a hilltop during sunset in Dubrovnik, Croatia, which we were visiting with some friends. It was beautiful, simple and romantic!”
The Engagement
“The engagement planning process was pretty low-key since we only had around 60 guests. My parents selected the venue which everyone loved. It was the beautiful terrace at the Jumeirah Al Qasr Hotel in Madinat Jumeirah, and since our engagement took place in December, the weather was perfect. The decor and food were provided by the Jumeirah Group. The decor at the event was quite simple but elegant. I researched photographers and came across Bernie & Bindi’s website and immediately fell in love with their work. They put us at ease throughout the entire shoot process. We did not have any particular theme other than wanting the event to be relaxed and fun, which it turned out to be.”
